Speaking at the audio launch of Dharala Prabhu, director Krishna Marimuthu said that the film is a tribute to his favorite filmmaker Shooji Sarcar, who helmed the original Hindi version Vicky Donor which starred Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role.
“I’ve been seeing some smart comments in the online space. Yes, Dharala Prabhu is a remake of Vicky Donor. It’s a retelling of the original Hindi version and my tribute to Shoojit,” said Krishna.
Starring Harish Kalyan in the lead role, the film is all set to hit screens on March 13th.
