DC OTT release date: Lokesh Kanagaraj starrer set for streaming premiere

With its blockbuster theatrical success, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut DC is all set for its OTT journey, with Sun NXT bringing the action drama to streaming audiences.

The DC OTT release date has been officially announced. The Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi-starrer will make its digital premiere on September 4 on Sun NXT. The announcement comes after the film’s successful theatrical run following its release on August 7.

Directed by Arun Matheswaran, DC marks filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s full-fledged acting debut. The film is an adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel Devdas, presented through a darker and action-driven treatment.

Lokesh plays Devadas, a broken man whose life takes a dramatic turn after his encounters with two women. Wamiqa Gabbi plays Chandra, while Sanjana AK appears as Parvathi. Their lives become intertwined as the story moves through revenge, love, violence and redemption.

The film opened in theatres on August 7 and received superb reception for its performances and technical work. Anirudh Ravichander’s music and background score emerged as one of the major talking points, while Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi also received appreciation for their performances.

The film also features Avinash, Krish Dayal, Sharath Ravi and Thalaivasal Vijay in important roles. Mukesh handled the cinematography, GK Prasanna served as the editor and PC Stunts choreographed the action sequences. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner.

With the DC OTT release date now locked for September 4, audiences who missed the film in theatres will soon get an opportunity to watch Arun Matheswaran’s intense action drama from home. The film will stream on Sun NXT from the announced date.
