Basil Joseph joins Tamil comedy Raawadi with Sirai fame LK Akshay Kumar

Actor Basil Joseph is set to make a significant mark in Tamil cinema with his first full-length role in the upcoming film Raawadi. The project, produced by Seven Screen Studio as its 13th production, also features LK Akshay Kumar of Sirai fame in a leading role and has recently been titled Raawadi.

Raawadi will be directed by Vignesh Vadivel, marking his debut behind the camera. Vadivel has previously contributed as an assistant director on Fight Club (2023) and has directed numerous ad films, bringing diverse experience to his first feature. The film is reportedly a comedy, hinting at a fun-filled narrative for both audiences and the cast.

Backing the project under the Seven Screen Studio banner is producer Lalit Kumar, with LK Akshay Kumar also serving as a co-producer. The creative team includes Jen Martin composing the music, Leon Britto handling cinematography, Barath Vikraman editing the film, and PS Hariharan overseeing art direction. The cast further boasts talents such as John Vijay, Sathyan, Jaffer Sadiq, Noble K James, Arunachaleswaran, Shariq Hassan, and Aishwarya Sharma.

Although Basil Joseph previously appeared in a cameo in the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Parasakthi, Raawadi marks his first major role in a Tamil production, signalling a promising expansion of his career into new regional cinema.
