Baba Black Sheep Movie Review

The team of Black Sheep make a fine impact with a moderately entertaining comedy! Down goes our Baba Black Sheep Movie Review.

Director Raj Mohan, famous for his shows on Put Chutney and Black Sheep, arrives with his directorial debut in the form of Baba Black Sheep, a new film featuring the famous cast who come with Youtube fame to their names.

The film is about a group of school students, the ego clashes between them and how they get reformed after going through some tough incidents in the society. The first half of the film is entirely filled with gags and pop culture references which are funny in parts. The film starts off as a film for the 2K kids, and it certainly targets the same audience. However, we have to wait and see if the 2K kids actually enjoy this level of comedy shown here, as only few jokes land where they want to.

Baba Black Sheep could have been even better if it took a better route in the second half, as it tries to just jump on to a real life story and carry forward the film to the climax. If director Rajmohan had indeed picked up some real life stories and incorporated it instead of the infamous incident that he has used here, it would led to a greater end result.

The performances from the cast are all neat, with Ayaz and Ammu Abhirami making a good impact, and RJ Vigneshkanth striking some fine jokes. The film also has the presence of many well known seasoned actors and makes good use of them.

Technically, Baba Black Sheep is neat though the songs by Santhosh Dhayanidhi could have been better and could’ve matched the level of his single tracks.

On the whole, Baba Black Sheep is a time pass entertainer that is targeted at the 2K Kids.

Verdict: A neat, watchable school-based entertainer!
