Ashwath Marimuthu reveals Dharman wrap date, STR51 shoot plans and more
Ashwath Marimuthu reveals that Dharman will wrap by October and STR51 will begin in February 2027, while praising Rajinikanth and teasing his fantasy entertainer.
Director Ashwath Marimuthu has shared several interesting updates about his upcoming projects, including the highly anticipated Dharman with Superstar Rajinikanth and his next collaboration with Silambarasan TR.
Speaking at a recent event, Ashwath revealed that the shoot of Dharman is expected to be completed by October. He also expressed his excitement about working with Rajinikanth, saying that the first schedule has already been completed.
According to Ashwath, working with Rajinikanth has been a memorable experience. He praised the Superstar’s humility and respect for the craft, describing him as a “fantabulous human being.” He also added that Dharman will have a Gen Z vibe and meter, while expressing confidence that the film will be widely likeable.
Ashwath also confirmed that his film with Silambarasan TR, tentatively referred to as STR51, will begin in February 2027. He revealed that the song composing has already been completed. Interestingly, the director described the film as his version of Vallavan and Manmadhan, with fantasy elements.
Ashwath also spoke about his upcoming opportunity to work with Kamal Haasan. Calling it a responsibility rather than an opportunity, he said he understands the significance of taking forward a dream shared by many filmmakers.
Meanwhile, Ashwath praised Silambarasan for being supportive of his decision to direct Dharman. He also revealed that he has completed an extended cameo in a Mamitha Baiju-starrer for Pradeep Ranganathan production venture and a guest role in VJ Siddhu’s Dayangaram. He added that Arasan is shaping up extraordinarily well and expressed confidence in both Arasan and STR51.
