Are Jana Nayagan Tamil Nadu distribution rights being split among multiple distributors?
Trade circles indicate that Jana Nayagan Tamil Nadu distribution rights may be split across key territories, marking what could become a benchmark deal for Vijay’s farewell film.

In a major development within the Tamil film trade, the Tamil Nadu distribution rights for Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated farewell film Jana Nayagan have taken an unexpected turn. While early speculation suggested that Raahul of Romeo Pictures would secure the entire state’s distribution, the latest strong industry buzz indicates a paradigm shift as the Tamil Nadu rights have now been allocated area-wise to multiple distributors, marking a new benchmark in the region’s distribution landscape.
According to reliable trade sources, the Chennai and Chengalpattu territories have been acquired by AGS Entertainment, a banner known for handling major star vehicles. The North Arcot and South Arcot regions have been secured by Seenu of S Pictures. Raja Mannar has reportedly taken charge of the Coimbatore territory, while Five Star Senthil and Narayanasamy have jointly acquired the Salem, Trichy, and Madurai regions. The Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari circuits, meanwhile, are said to be clinched by Prathap.
The combined value of these territorial acquisitions is estimated to be an unprecedented 105 crore, making it the highest ever Tamil Nadu theatrical business in the history of Tamil cinema: a testament to the phenomenal expectations surrounding Jana Nayagan and Thalapathy Vijay’s unmatched market presence.
With the grand audio launch scheduled to take place in Malaysia on December 27th, the film’s promotional campaign is set to intensify, with new materials expected to drop in a phased manner. Jana Nayagan is gearing up for a massive worldwide release on January 9th, 2026, and trade circles anticipate record-breaking numbers across all centres.
