An archetypical album
In comparison to the towering standards that they have set, Aranmanai 2 ostensibly sits on the last bench of Hip Hop Tamizha’s discography so far. The reason why the album dips is lack of innovative tunes, which were the USP of their albums until now. However, the saving grace here is that the album is still two steps ahead of what the first installment offered.

One thing’s for sure, this duo hand out at least one good track when it comes to love songs. With a fast-paced beat at the background, here’s an eclectic track sung by Aadhi, who nasals himself through with ease. Our PICK!
Maya Maya: Singer – Kailash Kher and Padmalatha
At the start, Maya Maya sounds stunning with its grandeur and chants. But soon after, it shifts into a familiar tempo, with a loopy beat. Padmalatha swoops in to channelize this one, making it a fine track on the whole.
Kuchi Mittai: Singer – Anthony Daasan
Going by Hip Hop Tamizha’s standards, this is downright disappointing number which has no takeaway. The messed up first interlude is a clean nose dive.
Aranmanai 2 Theme: Instrumental
A noisy theme which has spook elements, dubstep and orchestra blended together. Passable is the word.
Amma (The Amman Song): Singers – Malathy, Hip Hop Tamizha, Anthony Daasan
Hip Hop Tamizha add their trademark turnarounds to a typecast Amman song to churn out this loud and dramatic track. Might just slot in with the flow of the movie.
