Anupama Parameswaran’s ‘Lockdown’ set for January 30 release after delays
Slated for a January 30 release, Lockdown promises a gripping narrative shaped by isolation, inner turmoil, and human resilience.

After multiple postponements due to unforeseen circumstances and adverse weather in December, Lockdown, headlined by Anupama Parameswaran, is finally poised to premiere on January 30. The released trailer offers a poignant and immersive preview of what promises to be one of the year’s most emotionally resonant films.
Directed by AR Jeeva and produced by Lyca Productions, Lockdown situates Parameswaran at the centre of a story that explores the psychological and emotional upheavals experienced during an extended lockdown period. In the trailer, her character, Anita, is depicted confronting intense personal struggles, isolation, and resilience under extraordinary pressure, hinting at a narrative that prioritizes depth and character evolution over spectacle.
The cinematography by Sakthivel underscores the film’s thematic focus, using visual language to convey confinement and internal conflict, while the musical score by NR Raghunanthan and Siddharth Vipin heightens the emotional tone. Supporting performances from an ensemble cast, including Charlie, Nirosha and Priya Venkat, suggest a layered portrayal of varied human responses to crisis.
Fans can expect Lockdown as a compelling drama that blends rich performances with technical finesse, setting solid expectations for its theatrical debut this month.
