Anjaan gets tremendous booking response; targets 1500 screens worldwide

Suriya’s Anjaan is gearing up for a remarkable business at the box-office. With less than a week to its release, the bookings for the film were opened in Abirami Mega Mall yesterday. As per last night’s update, the theatre had sold nearly 11000 tickets with the gross roughly amounting to nearly 11 lakhs. Other theaters are likely to follow suit and begin advance bookings for the film soon.

Meanwhile, the makers are targeting to release the film in 1500 screens worldwide, both Tamil and Telugu combined. Abirami Ramanathan, who holds the Chennai city distribution rights, announced yesterday that the film is releasing in 37 screens in Chennai alone, which is marginally more than Rajinikanth’s Sivaji which got nearly 20 screens in its first week. The film will be released with subtitles in north India and overseas to attract the non-Tamil diaspora across the globe. Since Junior NTR and Samantha starrer Rabhasa is postponed, the Telugu version Sikandar is eyeing 500 screens in Andhra Pradesh alone. The film’s final release count in Tamil Nadu is expected to be around 450 – 475 screens.
