Akshara Haasan on how she landed the Shamitabh role

Akshara Haasan has revealed yesterday in a promo event about how she landed the role in Balki’s Shamitabh where she shares screen space with Dhanush and Amitabh Bachchan. Though Akshara has assisted Kamal Haasan in Vishwaroopam, Shamitabh marks her onscreen debut. It was at a party, Balki ran into Akshara and borrowed few minutes of her time.

“No one was aware that I was ready to make an onscreen appearance then. When Balki told me that he has an offer for me in his film, I thought ‘Wow. That’s a great chance to join him as an assistant’. But then, when I gotta know I would be playing the lead role, I was quite surprised,” she says.

Shamitabh will release worldwide on February 6th.
