Ajith’s racing win earns Udhayanidhi’s praise and state recognition
Ajith Kumar secures third in 24H series; Udhayanidhi hails his support for Tamil Nadu's sports mission and global representation.

Deputy CM of TN, Udhayanidhi Stalin recently took to social media to congratulate Ajith Kumar and his racing team after they secured a podium finish in the Creventic 24H European Endurance Championship Series 2025 in Barcelona. Udhayanidhi expressed pride that Ajith’s team achieved third place overall and extended warm praise not only to Ajith and his teammates, but also for representing Tamil Nadu and India on an international racing stage.
In his congratulatory message, Udhayanidhi also acknowledged Ajith’s support of the SDAT logo on his race vehicle and gear, calling it a gesture of solidarity with Tamil Nadu’s sports development mission. He wrote how the state government appreciated that Ajith “sporting the #SDAT logo” showed respect for the institution’s role and gave further meaning to the team’s participation.
This achievement comes after Ajith’s racing team had already made waves earlier in the year, marking their return to competitive racing following a long break. Despite the excitement, Ajith reportedly kept the celebrations modest, especially given the ongoing sensitivities following the Karur tragedy – choosing not to draw excessive attention to the racing feat during a time of mourning in Tamil Nadu.
Ajith’s racing comeback is being closely watched by fans and the public alike, and Udhayanidhi’s public message adds a political dimension to the applause. As the Tamil film and sports worlds intersect, this gesture underscores both pride in cinematic icons and investment in nurturing athletic identity at home.
