Director Aadhik Ravichandran has shared interesting details about Daredevil, his upcoming film with Ajith Kumar. He revealed that the project was initially planned as his first collaboration with the actor. However, time and budget constraints led to the team developing a different version of the idea for Good Bad Ugly.
Speaking about the two films, Aadhik explained that Daredevil was originally built around three central characters representing the good, the bad and the ugly. Since the team could not realize that version at the time, they adapted the concept for Good Bad Ugly. The director also said he consciously incorporated his admiration for Ajith into the film.
Aadhik described Good Bad Ugly as a one-time experience that could not be recreated with the same impact. He noted that Ajith had not explored that particular style of commercial entertainment for around six to seven years. The actor’s return to that flavour excited audiences, according to the director.
In contrast, Daredevil will offer a completely different experience. Aadhik said the characters, story and screenplay have been developed to deliver an entertaining film. He also expressed confidence that the project would appeal to cinema lovers, Ajith fans, families and children.
The director further addressed the film’s casting, which has generated considerable discussion. Sreeleela will share screen space with Ajith, alongside veteran actors Parthiban and Prabhu, as well as Sunil. Aadhik also hinted that the film contains several surprises for audiences.
Interestingly, Ajith himself suggested the titles Good Bad Ugly and Daredevil. Aadhik explained that the latter suits the actor because of his willingness to perform risky stunts and his passion for motorsports. He also pointed to Ajith’s efforts to promote racing internationally as another reason the title fits him.
Prabhu’s inclusion in both films was another decision influenced by Ajith. According to Aadhik, the actor wanted Prabhu to be part of the project from the beginning. The director initially hesitated to approach the veteran actor, but Ajith’s affection and mutual respect with Prabhu helped make the collaboration possible.
Aadhik also shared that Prabhu closely follows Ajith’s racing activities and regularly discusses the latest developments with him. The veteran actor’s interest in cars and motorsports has further strengthened their connection.
Meanwhile, the team is preparing to begin the next phase of production. Aadhik confirmed that filming will take place in Hyderabad, Malaysia and Bangkok. The shoot is scheduled to begin on November 12 at 8:05AM, following the Diwali celebrations.
With a distinct storyline, a new combination of actors and several surprises in store, Daredevil is shaping up to be a different outing for Ajith and Aadhik. The director’s latest comments have also raised expectations among fans eager to see what the duo brings to the screen after Good Bad Ugly.
