Actor and professional racer Ajith Kumar has expressed his gratitude to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay following the state government’s announcement of a dedicated Motorsports City.

The Tamil Nadu government recently announced plans to establish a Motorsports City in Chennai as part of its initiatives to strengthen the state’s sporting infrastructure. An Olympic City is also planned in Chennai, with both projects aimed at encouraging the growth of sports and nurturing talent.

Ajith, who has been actively involved in motorsports and has participated in international racing events, welcomed the announcement. He described the initiative as a major step forward for the motorsports ecosystem in India and thanked Chief Minister Vijay for the move.

Drawing from his own involvement in the sport, Ajith referred to Neil Armstrong’s famous words while expressing his optimism about the project. He said the Tamil Nadu government’s “small step” could become a “giant leap” for motorsports in India. He also wished the Chief Minister success in his future sporting initiatives.

The proposed Motorsports City is expected to provide dedicated infrastructure for racing and help develop young talent in the state. The government has also indicated plans to facilitate major international motorsport events, including Formula 1, MotoGP and the World Rally Championship.

Ajith’s response has added further attention to the announcement, given his long-standing association with motorsports. The initiative could potentially strengthen Tamil Nadu’s position as an important destination for motorsport activities while creating greater opportunities for aspiring racers.
