Ajith Kumar has penned an emotional statement marking 33 years in the film industry, reflecting on a journey defined by resilience, humility, and gratitude. From a young man without industry connections to a celebrated actor and Padma Bhushan recipient, Ajith’s rise stands as a testament to grit and self-belief.
In his message, Ajith downplayed the idea of celebration, instead emphasizing gratitude. “I do not pen this to celebrate,” he wrote. “Each passing year is a landmark. I thank you all with a full heart and folded hands.”
Ajith candidly recalled his beginnings as an outsider, facing setbacks, injuries, and silence. Yet, he persisted. “Perseverance is not something I learnt; it’s something I lived,” he wrote, resonating with fans who have followed his ups and downs.
He credited his loyal fanbase for supporting him through uncertain times. “Even when I had nothing to offer but honesty, you stood by me. That kind of faith is rare.”
Ajith also spoke about his parallel journey in motor racing, which he described as equally testing and humbling. With the relaunch of Ajith Kumar Racing in 2025, he reaffirmed his determination to defy age and self-doubt through discipline and willpower.
His heartfelt thanks extended to his fans, the film fraternity, political leaders, the media, and even his critics – acknowledging how their roles shaped him. Deeply personal notes were reserved for his family, especially wife Shalini and children Anoushka and Aadvik, whom he called his “balance and reason.”
Ajith also expressed his deep honour at receiving the Padma Bhushan and pledged to live up to its dignity.
“I may not always be visible. I may not always speak. But I am always grateful,” he wrote in closing. “Thank you for the faith, the silence, the applause, the patience, and the love. Live and let live.”
On the film front, Ajith was last seen in Good Bad Ugly, one of 2025’s top-grossing films. His next project is reportedly once again with director Adhik Ravichandran.
