With Parasakthi poised for its January 10th theatrical release, producer Aakash Baskaran has highlighted a key sequence in the Sudha Kongara-directed film that he believes will resonate strongly with audiences. In a recent interview, Baskaran described the film’s interval block as a standout moment, recalling how strongly it impacted him when he first read the script. He likened the sequence to an iconic mass moment akin to Baashaa, underscoring its dramatic intensity and crowd-pleasing potential.
According to Baskaran, the production dedicated significant creative energy to this pivotal scene. The team built a detailed set replicating Madurai’s Masi Street, and several days were devoted exclusively to shooting the sequence, which he says remained one of the film’s most powerful moments even in the edit.
Parasakthi features a strong ensemble cast, including Sivakarthikeyan, Sreeleela, Atharvaa and Ravi Mohan in leading roles, with reports suggesting Rana Daggubati may also appear, though this has not been officially confirmed. The film marks Sreeleela’s Tamil industry debut.
This project represents director Sudha Kongara’s fourth feature, following acclaimed works such as Drohi, Irudhi Suttru and Soorarai Potru. The screenplay and story are by Kongara and Arjun Nadesan, with additional writing contributions from Ganeshaa, Madhan Karky and Shan Karuppusamy. The technical crew includes G.V. Prakash (music), Ravi K. Chandran (cinematography) and Sathish Surya (editing), and the film is produced under Baskaran’s Dawn Pictures banner with distribution by Red Giant Movies.
At the box office, Parasakthi will open amidst competition, arriving next day after Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan.
