Arjun Das is set to explore a new side of his acting career with John Doe, his upcoming crime thriller directed by Madhumita. The makers have unveiled the actor’s first look as Chandru, a police officer. The reveal marks the first time Arjun Das will be seen in a cop role on screen.

The first-look poster features Arjun Das in a police uniform, offering a glimpse of his character’s appearance. The actor also shared a personal note alongside the reveal. He described a question that continues to haunt Chandru: “Naan podhuma?” (Am I enough?). He added that he discovered a part of himself while exploring the character’s journey. The note gives the reveal an emotional dimension and hints at the personal struggles behind the police officer.

John Doe is written and directed by Madhumita. The film is expected to be a crime thriller, although the makers have kept its central plot details under wraps. The title announcement had earlier introduced the project as a mystery, raising questions about the identity and story of its central character.

The film also stars Sanchana Natarajan and Srishti in important roles. It is produced by Prasad Devineni and Shobu Yarlagadda under the banner of Arka Mediaworks. The technical team includes Mujeeb Majeed as the composer, Preetha Jayaraman as the cinematographer and Vijay Venkataraman as the editor. Dinesh Subbarayan is handling the stunt choreography.

Arjun Das and Madhumita have previously worked on the anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadha, though they were associated with separate segments. John Doe marks their first collaboration on a feature film. The project also adds another crime thriller to Arjun Das’ upcoming lineup, following his appearances in films and streaming projects across different genres.

AGS Entertainment has acquired the Tamil Nadu distribution rights for John Doe, which is reportedly eyeing a theatrical release on November 13.
