Baththa Teaser: Vijay Sethupathi introduces the fearless World of Baththa

The makers of Baththa have released a new glimpse titled World of Baththa, offering a closer look at Vijay Sethupathi’s character and the world surrounding him. Directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, the film is shaping up as an action-packed drama with crime, family emotions and an intriguing central character.

The glimpse introduces Baththa as a man who is feared by people around him, while he appears to fear no one. Set against what appears to be an 1980s backdrop, the video introduces the people waiting for his return, including his family members. His daughter is shown expressing fear and hoping for his return, while others seem confident that he will eventually come back.

Vijay Sethupathi appears in a rugged and aggressive avatar. His character is shown getting involved in physical fights and creating fear in his surroundings. The glimpse also suggests that Baththa’s difficult nature extends to his personal life, particularly his relationship with his wife, played by Lijomol Jose.

The video also hints at a larger conflict involving crime and a police investigation. However, the makers have kept the core plot under wraps. This allows the glimpse to focus mainly on Baththa’s personality and the reactions he evokes from those around him.

Baththa marks the third collaboration between Vijay Sethupathi and Balaji Tharaneetharan, following Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and Seethakaathi. The film also marks Vijay Sethupathi’s first collaboration with Lijomol Jose.

The film is presented by Atlee and produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare. Sai Abhyankkar composes the music, while Selva Kumar SK handles the cinematography and R Kalaivanan takes care of the editing.

Following the glimpse, Baththa has added another layer of curiosity around its central character and the world he inhabits. The film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on October 1, 2026.
