The makers of Dada, the upcoming biopic on former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, have officially unveiled the film’s first-look poster. The announcement coincided with Ganguly’s 54th birthday, offering fans their first glimpse of Rajkummar Rao in the iconic role.
The poster recreates one of the most memorable moments in Indian cricket history, with Rajkummar Rao striking Sourav Ganguly’s famous celebration at the Lord’s Cricket Ground balcony after India’s historic NatWest Series triumph in 2002. The actor’s appearance and body language closely reflect Ganguly’s iconic image, giving fans an early look at his transformation into the legendary cricketer.
Along with the first-look reveal, the makers also announced that Dada is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 14, 2027.
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the film chronicles Sourav Ganguly’s remarkable journey from a promising cricketer to one of India’s most influential captains. Widely credited with transforming the Indian cricket team into a fearless overseas competitor, Ganguly’s leadership marked a defining era in Indian cricket.
