Ashwath Marimuthu says Rajinikanth’s energy on Dharman sets is truly inspiring

Director Ashwath Marimuthu has opened up about his experience of working with Rajinikanth on Dharman, describing the superstar’s energy and enthusiasm on set as truly inspiring.

Speaking about the actor, Ashwath said Rajinikanth continues to carry the same charisma that audiences have admired for decades. According to the director, the veteran star brings remarkable enthusiasm to every shoot and creates a lively atmosphere for the entire team.

“Rajini sir doesn’t look his age at all. Even today, he has the same charm and excitement that audiences saw during Padayappa. He is always energetic on the sets and keeps everyone around him motivated. Watching him perform in front of the camera is an experience in itself,” Ashwath shared.

The filmmaker also spoke about the responsibility of directing one of Indian cinema’s biggest stars. He revealed that Dharman is being crafted as a full-fledged commercial entertainer that will celebrate everything fans admire about Rajinikanth.

Ashwath said the film will showcase the superstar’s trademark style, screen presence and mass appeal. He added that directing Rajinikanth has always been a dream and that he is determined to deliver a theatrical experience worthy of the actor’s legacy.

Recalling the film’s first day of shooting, the director revealed that one particular moment left a lasting impression on him. He said Rajinikanth’s entrance into the hospital set was so impactful that he found himself cheering while watching the monitor, describing it as a whistle-worthy moment even from behind the camera.

Dharman recently commenced production with Rajinikanth in the lead. The film is produced by Kamal Haasan and features Simran and Raashi Khanna in pivotal roles. Music for the project is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, adding further excitement to one of the most anticipated Tamil films currently in production.
