Vijay Sethupathi – Maniratnam movie secures major pre-release deals before shoot
Maniratnam's next collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi has generated strong industry buzz after securing major rights deals before filming begins.
Ace filmmaker Maniratnam is gearing up for his next directorial venture featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. Even before the cameras start rolling, the film has reportedly secured significant pre-release business through its digital, overseas and audio rights.
According to reports, the digital streaming rights of the yet-to-be-titled film have been acquired by Netflix. Meanwhile, the overseas theatrical rights have reportedly been sold to Home Screen Entertainment, while the audio rights have also been finalized ahead of production.
The project is expected to go on floors from July 5th. Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the film’s music, marking another collaboration with Maniratnam.
With the principal cast, acclaimed director and AR Rahman’s music already generating strong anticipation, the film has attracted considerable attention from distributors and streaming platforms even before shooting has commenced.
An official announcement regarding the complete cast and crew is expected in the coming weeks as production gets underway.
