Ashwath Marimuthu reveals exciting details about Santhanam’s role in STR51

Director Ashwath Marimuthu has shared an exciting update about Silambarasan TR’s upcoming film STR51, offering fresh insight into the film’s characters and early reception within the production team.

The filmmaker revealed that comedian-actor Santhanam plays a standout role in the film, describing the character as one that has shaped up exceptionally well. According to Ashwath, the role left a strong impression during the narration stage itself.

Drawing a comparison to his earlier experience while working on Dragon, the director recalled how the production team burst into laughter when he narrated the “Kutty Dragon” character (played by Harshath Khan). He added that a similar response followed when Santhanam’s character in STR51 was presented, with the team thoroughly enjoying the portions during narration.

Ashwath Marimuthu further stated that the production house, AGS Entertainment, expressed immense satisfaction after listening to the full script, indicating strong confidence in the film’s potential even before shooting begins.

Meanwhile, the shoot of STR51 is expected to commence in the second half of this year. Silambarasan TR is currently occupied with his commitments for director Vetrimaaran’s Arasan, after which he will move on to this project.
