Retro Swag and Star Power: Kamal Haasan – Rajinikanth reunion promo unveiled

The makers of the much anticipated KHxRK project have unveiled a stylish and nostalgia-driven announcement promo, officially kick starting Kamal Haasan 238 x Rajinikanth 174. The film marks the legendary on-screen reunion of the two cinematic icons after an extraordinary gap of 47 years, making it one of the most significant collaborations in Indian cinema history.

The promo leans heavily into retro swagger and understated cool, presenting Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth in impeccably styled suits, exuding confidence through their walk, body language, and screen presence. The visuals celebrate their star power without excess, allowing nostalgia and charisma to take centre stage.

In a playful and self-aware sequence, the two veterans are seen stepping into a car garage before heading out for a drive, accompanied by director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander. The promo culminates in a witty exchange where Kamal Haasan asks Nelson, “Who’s the hero?”, only for Rajinikanth to chime in with his trademark humour, “Sollunga ji, kekkarar la…”.
