AR Murugadoss gets emotional over Thalapathy Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan
AR Murugadoss reflected on the irreplaceable void Thalapathy Vijay will leave in cinema while extending heartfelt wishes for Jana Nayagan and the actor’s political journey.

The grand audio launch of Jana Nayagan was telecast on Zee Tamil yesterday, drawing widespread attention among cinema lovers and fans. One of the most talked-about moments during the telecast was a special video message from ace filmmaker AR Murugadoss, in which he extended his wishes to Thalapathy Vijay for Jana Nayagan and his forthcoming political journey. The heartfelt message struck an emotional chord with audiences and quickly became a point of discussion.
Sharing his thoughts, AR Murugadoss expressed deep emotion over Vijay’s impending departure from cinema. “For me, even thinking about the void Vijay sir will leave behind is extremely painful. I still find it hard to accept that Jana Nayagan will be his final film. Filling his place is not something that can be done easily—it’s a space that cannot even be imagined,” he said.
Murugadoss went on to speak about the personal joy associated with Vijay’s films. “There was always a unique happiness in waking up on Diwali morning, wearing new clothes, and going to watch a Vijay sir film. Imagining cinema without him: festivals like Pongal, Diwali, New Year, theatres without his presence. feels incredibly difficult to accept,” he added, conveying the sense of loss felt by both fans and the industry.
The director also shared his faith in Vijay’s next chapter, drawing a connection between the actor’s personal values and leadership. “They say a good human being can become a good leader. Vijay sir is a good human being, and I strongly believe he will emerge as a great leader. Jana Nayagan will achieve massive success – my heartfelt wishes for that. Vijay sir is stepping away from cinema to begin a long and significant journey, and for that too, he has my sincere wishes and prayers.”
Thalapathy Vijay and AR Murugadoss share a successful creative history, having collaborated on landmark films such as Thuppakki, Kaththi, and Sarkar. All three films went on to become blockbusters, marking crucial milestones in Vijay’s career. Murugadoss, in many ways, played a pivotal role during one of the most defining transition phases of the actor’s cinematic journey.
It is also worth noting that, in his earlier interviews, AR Murugadoss has repeatedly spoken about Thalapathy Vijay’s exceptional acting abilities. The director has remarked that Vijay would consistently exceed expectations, particularly in terms of dialogue delivery, modulation, and screen presence, often elevating scenes beyond what was originally conceived on paper. Murugadoss has also candidly admitted that filmmakers, including himself, have explored only about 30 percent of Vijay’s true acting potential. He has described Vijay as a top-class performer whose full range, unfortunately, may remain largely unseen, especially as the actor now steps away from cinema.
Jana Nayagan is now gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release from this Friday, January 9th.
