Dhanush’s D54 moves into post production, Director Vignesh Raja shares update

Director Vignesh Raja confirms that post-production work is underway on Dhanush’s D54, as the film enters its final stages following the completion of shooting.

The team behind Dhanush’s highly anticipated 54th film, tentatively titled D54, has offered a fresh production update as principal photography concludes and the project moves into its post production stages. Director Vignesh Raja, known for his acclaimed debut Por Thozhil, took to social media with an image from the editing room alongside editor Sreejith Sarang, writing, “Stepping into 2026. One cut at a time,” signalling that post-production work is now underway.

Shooting for D54 began in July 2025 and wrapped up in late December, marking a swift and focused shoot schedule. The film reunites Dhanush with a strong ensemble cast, headlined by Mamitha Baiju in the female lead, supported by veteran performers including Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, and KS Ravikumar, along with Prithvi Pandiarajan and others.

Produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner, D54 also benefits from a talented technical team. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music score, while Theni Eswar is responsible for cinematography and Sreejith Sarang manages editing. The collaboration between Raja and co-writer Alfred Prakash, who also contributed to Por Thozhil – has been highlighted as a key creative strength.

Though an official release date has yet to be announced, the makers have indicated that D54 is targeting an early 2026 theatrical release, with speculation pointing to a February window.

With its shoot complete and post-production in progress, anticipation continues to build for what promises to be a compelling addition to Dhanush’s diverse body of work, especially following his recent successes across multiple languages.
