Mookuthi Amman 2 shoot wrapped; film set for Summer 2026 release

Sundar C directorial Mookuthi Amman 2 starring Nayanthara has completed filming and will now enter an extensive post-production phase with heavy CG work.

The makers of Mookuthi Amman 2, starring Nayanthara and directed by Sundar C, have officially announced the completion of the film’s shooting. To mark the milestone, the team released a video from the sets, confirming that principal photography for the much-anticipated sequel has been successfully wrapped up.

With the shoot completed, Mookuthi Amman 2 will now enter an extensive post-production phase, during which large-scale CG and visual effects work will be undertaken. Given the film’s mythological-fantasy backdrop, the makers are reportedly investing considerable time and resources to ensure high-quality visuals. The film has been confirmed for a Summer 2026 theatrical release, positioning it as a major festive attraction.

The sequel features a star-studded ensemble cast, adding scale and variety to the narrative. Along with Nayanthara in the titular role, the film stars Duniya Vijay, Regina Cassandra, Urvashi, Sunil, Yogi Babu, Abhinaya, Ineya, Garuda Raam, Singampuli, Vichu Vishwanath, Ajay Ghosh, and Myna Nandhini. The diverse lineup promises a mix of powerful performances, humour, and emotional depth, in line with the commercial sensibilities associated with Sundar C’s filmmaking.

Produced by Vels Film International in association with Rowdy Pictures, Mookuthi Amman 2 is being mounted on a grand scale, with reports suggesting a production budget exceeding ₹100 crore. The sequel aims to expand the universe established in the first installment while offering enhanced spectacle and storytelling.

With filming completed and post-production underway, anticipation is steadily rising for Mookuthi Amman 2, which is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Tamil releases slated for Summer 2026.
