Prabhas battles spirits in style as ‘The Raja Saab’ trailer drops
Prabhas returns in The Raja Saab, a supernatural thriller mixing horror and humor, releasing January - pushed to Jan 10th in Tamilnadu to avoid Jana Nayagan clash.

The trailer of The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, has finally been released, giving audiences a spine-chilling yet comical glimpse into the world of supernatural fantasy. The 3-minute-34-second trailer begins intriguingly with Prabhas undergoing hypnosis, his eyes slowly closing as a mysterious voice leads him into a trance. What follows is a haunting blend of eerie visuals, flickering lights, and ghostly apparitions, all set to the retro tune of “Koi Yahan Nache Nache”, creating an unsettling yet oddly playful tone.
The narrative appears to revolve around a lost kingdom, long-forgotten secrets, and a battle between light and darkness. Amid the horror elements: creaking doors, haunted mansions, and jump scares – the trailer also brings in moments of levity and quirk, maintaining a delicate balance between fear and fun. Zarina Wahab’s emotionally charged prayer to Goddess Durga for the safety of her grandchild adds a layer of family-driven drama, suggesting that beyond the spectral showdowns lies a deeply personal story.
Sanjay Dutt emerges as the main antagonist, portrayed as a menacing figure who straddles the roles of psychiatrist, hypnotist, and exorcist. His character exudes a sinister calm, manipulating minds and conjuring fears, setting the stage for a supernatural face-off. Prabhas, on the other hand, is shown evolving through the chaos – at one point, even wielding powers of his own, hinting at an epic transformation.
Directed and written by Maruthi, with music by Thaman, The Raja Saab boasts a robust ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab. The film’s visual storytelling leans into theatrics and grandeur, and the trailer will also be showcased in select theaters across the country, with a detailed list of venues to be announced soon.
Set to release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam, The Raja Saab will hit theaters on January 9th, 2026. However, in Tamil Nadu, the release has been pushed to January 10th to avoid a direct box office clash with Thalapathy Vijay’s much awaited Jana Nayagan.
