Trailer of Shane Nigam’s Balti promises a gritty Kabaddi-driven action drama

The trailer of Balti, Shane Nigam’s upcoming bilingual sports action drama, offers a gripping glimpse into a world where kabaddi isn’t just a game, it’s survival. Set in the rugged backdrop of the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, the film follows Udayan, aka “Balti”, a passionate kabaddi player from the Velampalayam team. As tensions rise on the playing field, deeper threats emerge off it, drawing him into a web of gang rivalries, personal battles, and emotional turmoil.

Directed by debutant Unni Sivalingam, Balti features a stellar cast including Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Preethi Asrani, Selvaraghavan, Poornima Indrajith, and Alphonse Puthren. The trailer hints at a layered narrative, combining fast-paced kabaddi sequences, a budding romance, and dark turns involving crime and vengeance. Poornima plays a tough moneylender, while Alphonse and Selvaraghavan appear in intense, antagonist-driven roles.
