Director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu confirms next film with Dhanush on Lubber Pandhu’s first anniversary
Director Tamizharasan celebrates Lubber Pandhu anniversary by announcing his next film with Dhanush, produced by Dawn Pictures.
On the occasion of the first anniversary of his debut film Lubber Pandhu, director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu has made a significant announcement that is sure to excite fans and the film industry alike. Taking to his official X account, the director confirmed that his next project will star none other than actor Dhanush, aligning with early trade speculations.
In an emotional and reflective post, Tamizharasan shared his journey of self-doubt and the milestones he overcame leading up to the release of Lubber Pandhu:
“Can someone like me even enter the film industry? If I did, could I become an AD (Assistant Director)? Even if I became one, could I write a story? If I managed to write one, could I pitch it to actors and get their approval? If I did get their nod, could I make the film properly? And once made, could others apart from me and the editor actually sit through the film? It was during this phase, filled with unanswered questions and insecurities that I didn’t dare to speak out loud, that Lubber Pandhu released on this very date – September 20th, last year. After the first show ended on this day, you all gave me one resounding answer to all my questions: ‘There’s no such thing as impossible. Everything is possible, and anyone can do it.’ You told me to close that chapter and get to work on the next one. I’m immensely thankful for all the love and respect you’ve shown. On this special day that gave me so much motivation, I think it’s only right that I share this big update with the world. Yes, my next film will be with Dhanush sir. Thank you so much, sir, for patiently listening to my story despite my nervousness. Now, I’m just waiting to call ‘Action’ and ‘Cut’ for Asuran himself.”
The heartfelt post has been met with overwhelming support from fans, industry peers, and trade insiders, all eager to see what the talented filmmaker will create in collaboration with a powerhouse performer like Dhanush.
Backing the project is expected to be Dawn Pictures, the production house helmed by Aakash Basakaran. The company responded to the director’s post with a succinct but exciting reply: “See you soon.” Notably, Dawn Pictures is also producing Idli Kadai, another Dhanush starrer whose trailer launch event is scheduled to take place today at Prozone Mall in Coimbatore.
