Vikram Prabhu leads, Akshay Lalit Kumar debuts in real-life inspired movie Sirai

Vikram Prabhu and newcomer Akshay Lalit Kumar team up in Sirai, a gritty drama directed by Vetrimaaran’s former associate Suresh.

The first look of Sirai, directed by Suresh Rajakumari – a former associate of ace filmmaker Vetrimaaran, has drawn attention not only for its intense visuals but also for introducing debutant Akshay, son of producer SS Lalit Kumar who bankrolled Leo, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaathal, Love Insurance Kompany to name a few.

Unveiled by director Lokesh Kanagaraj, the poster features Vikram Prabhu and Akshay in lead roles. Interestingly, Akshay’s look in a recent photo with director Vetrimaaran is drastically different from his appearance in the first look, hinting at a complete transformation for the role. His dedication and hard work are clearly reflected in this demanding debut.

Sirai is inspired by real-life events and penned by director Tamizh of Taanakaran fame. The story centers around a police officer and a suspect in custody, with Anantha playing Vikram Prabhu’s pair, and Anishma paired opposite Akshay.

Backed by Seven Screen Studios, the film features a stellar crew including Justin Prabhakaran (music), Madesh Manickam (cinematography), and Philomin Raj (editing).

Shot across Chennai, Sivagangai, and Vellore, Sirai is now in post-production, with trailer and audio launch dates expected soon.
