Marshal announced as title of Karthi 29; Kalyani Priyadarshan onboard as lead

The much-anticipated next project of actor Karthi has officially gone on floors today. Directed by Tamizh, best known for Taanakkaran, the film has been titled Marshal, as revealed by the makers.

Set in Rameshwaram during the 1960s and 70s, Marshal promises to be a compelling period drama with a rich mix of action, emotion, and intrigue. Kalyani Priyadarshan has been roped in as the female lead, marking her first on-screen pairing with Karthi.

The supporting cast boasts an impressive lineup including veteran actors Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Lal, John Kokken, Murali Sharma and Easwari Rao, adding further weight to this big-ticket production. The film’s music will be composed by Sai Abhyankkar, whose soundtrack is expected to enrich the film’s periodic backdrop, while cinematography will be handled by Sathyan Sooriyan.

With a powerful team both in front of and behind the camera, Marshal is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Tamil films in production.
