It was highlighted by the big win for team Parking, a film directed by debutant Ramkumar Balakrishnan which was award the Best Tamil Film for its testament to compelling storytelling and creative vision. MS Bhaskar received the Best Supporting Actor award for his impactful performance in Parking. The film also won the award for the best screenplay.
In music, GV Prakash Kumar won the Best Music Direction (Songs) for Vaathi, marking his second National Award following Soorarai Pottru. He now joins the elite list of composers from Tamil who have won for both songs and BGM, a place where only Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman were there before.
