Nandita Swetha talks about her role in Anjala

Nandita Swetha, who impressed with her performance as an aspring actor in Uppu Karuvaadu, talks to Only Kollywood about her role in her forthcoming release Anjala directed by debutant Thangam Saravanan. “Anjala was actually my second movie when I signed. It’s not a usual commercial movie where audiences expect dance, fight and stuff. It doesn’t have the general hero-heroine template. The film revolves around a tea shop and all characters are intertwined with it. It is the hero actually. Tea shops play an important part in everyone’s lives in our country, especially in the rural areas,” she says.

“Vemal is very jovial and a friendly co-star. He was fun to work with. What I like about him is his ability to get into the skin of the character and come out of it quickly. I cannot do that easily. I take time to come out of any character I play. I will be in the character all the time,” says Nandita about her working experience with Vemal, with whom she is sharing the screen space for the first time.

“I play Uthra, a Madurai ponnu. Most of my fans have been asking me to portray the role of a Madurai girl on screen since I will look  good in it. And I have huge fan following from Madurai. I think this role will satisfy them. I was happy because Thangam Saravanan Sir hails from Madurai and I was confident that he will show me authentically. I never had to put in any extra effort in grooming my character since Thangam Sir took care of it all,” said Nandita.

Anjala is all set for release this Friday along with Vil Ambu and Jil Jung Juk.
