Mersal emerges as Kollywood’s biggest single-language grosser worldwide

Thalapathy Vijay’s Mersal, with a gross of Rs. 224 crores, has surpassed Rajikanth’s Kabali (Rs. 216 crores) to emerge as Kollywood’s biggest single-language release grosser worldwide.

The movie also breached the Rs. 150 crore mark in India alone, making it the biggest ever for a Tamil film in India with a single-language release. With a gross $11.6 million approximately from overseas earnings, the film is only next to Rajinikanth’s Kabali. The Telugu version of the film Adirindhi is gearing up for release tomorrow, Nov 9th.
