Two-month postponement is quite disturbing: Karthik Subbaraj

Originally set to release in May, Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda, after two fateful months, will finally hit screens this Friday. Starring Siddharth and Lakshmi Menon in lead roles, the film is produced by Kathiresan of Aadukalam fame. Recently, Siddharth lashed out at the producer on Twitter for the uninformed postponement and we also witnessed a refutal from the producer’s end.

“I didn’t foresee troubles in my second film. This is the first time I am experiencing this and honestly, it is disappointing. We have put in our best for the project that was due to release in May. The two-month postponement is quite upsetting,” says Karthik Subbaraj to a daily. From his next film, Karthik has decided to clarify the producer about the issues with censor certificate before signing, to avoid misunderstandings during the release time.
