Worthy plot, hapless execution!

Director Ravi Nanda Periyasamy has pinned the plot right but the impact is not the same with the presentation. He also manages to pack a nice message for the dark skinned persons in the film.

Jigina a.k.a Vanna Jigina has Vijay Vasanth playing a typical Chennai localite and he has gained confidence playing a solo hero along with debutant Saniathara. Director Ravi Nanda Periyasamy has pinned the plot right but the impact is not the same with the presentation. Whether the advent of technology is boon or bane depends upon the opinion of an individual. Killing time on the internet and being absent-minded has become a part of life where one easily miscomprehend good looks as equivalent to good life style. The social media platforms add fuel to the fire as far as vulnerable minds are concerned. Yes you can guess it right , Jigina deals on the misuse of the social mediums and the consequences the leads suffer is packed in a middling storyline.

Vijay Vasanth starts his frame on a hilltop for a suicide and the reasons are listed. In the flashback, the hero is a happy person who seems to be enjoying life with his earnings as a call-taxi driver and in the meantime, he looks for change in lifestyle inspired by his corporate friends. Without thinking about the consequences, he follows his friends’ advice and starts a fake account in Facebook with a wrong identity and gets to chat with Saniathara (Angel Priya). They develop a bond over a course of time and also get to meet each other, not knowing their real identities. Vijay Vasanth’s inferiority on his color and status make him lose his confidence to confront Saniathara  who is a step ahead by keeping him silent. On the edge of the hill, Vijay Vasanth meets a new character (Karugamani) and she is on hill top for the same reason and there comes an important interval twist in the story.

What happens and why? Lays the platform for the climax, the twist in the second half might give you the answers for the logical misses in the first-half.  On the performance front, Vijay Vasanth needs miles to go and Saniathara expresses it right in a weak plot. On a special note, Vijay Vasanth and the role played by Karugamani need to be appreciated for their effortless performance in the climax. The characters in the film are left incomplete in writing and execution, Singam Puli should have been used stronger and he also meets a fatal end. Cinematography need not take blames, he has provided the needed requirements. BGM and songs by John Peters supports, on the editing table Gopikrishnan takes a rough cut. Overall, Vanna Jigina falls flat in the execution, but shall be watched once for its message.
