I all set for Diwali; Kerala, AP, TN rights sold out!

The distribution rights for Shankar ‘s I in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh are sold out already even before the release date is made official. More reliable sources in the trade indicate that the film is all set for a grand release on Diwali and will take on AR Murugadoss – Vijay’s Kaththi and Hari – Vishal’s Poojai at the ticket window. The TN theatrical distribution rights have been sold to Sushma Cine Arts for an undisclosed record sum.

We already reported here that the distribution rights for the film in Andhra Pradesh has fetched more than Rajinikanth’s Endhiran. Now, the latest is that the Kerala distribution rights too have been sold for a whopping sum. Sources say this is the highest amount ever paid for a non-malayalam movie. I is making the right noise and for the right reason. Now, the wait for the official announcement on film’s release continues.
