‘I’ achieves another illustrious overseas record

Vikram and Shankar’s I has achieved another illustrious overseas record by becoming the third South Indian film to earn $2 million in a single overseas territory. The film has minted nearly $2.04 million (Rs 12.5 crores) in Malaysia in 23 days and becomes the third highest grosser of all-time in Malaysia. Rajinikanth’s Endhiran and Sivaji are the only two films to have touched the $2 million mark earlier in Malaysia.

And, Rajinikanth’s Endhiran is the only film to have touched the $2M mark in two separate overseas territories, Malaysia and Singapore. This record is still unbeaten.
