Final talks between producers & DSPs unsuccessful; industry to down shutters from March 1st

The final round of talks between producers of all four southern film industries and DSPs in Bengaluru failed yesterday. Now, a decision has been taken to down the shutters from March 1st.

While Jayendra from Qube said that they made an offer to reduce the VPF cost from Rs. 22, 500 to Rs. 14,000 and the producers turned down the same, Prabhu SR said they didn’t reduce the price anywhere below Rs. 20,000.

Producers will not send any new content to DSPs from March 2nd. All the new films scheduled for the month of March have been put on hold for now.
